The Book of Proverbs through the Eyes of a Cop is the second book in the Through the Eyes of a Cop devotional series. This ministry series was an inspiration from the Lord to the most unlikely of carriers. Throughout the Bible, God gives us examples of His desire to use "the least of these" to carry His message. My favorite example of this is Gideon (Judges 6-8). In Gideon's words, "My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family." Gideon gathered an army of 32,000 Israelites to fight the Midianites. The Bible described the Midianite army as "thick as locusts. Their camels could no more be counted than the sand on the seashore" (Judges 7:12). God whittled Gideon's army down to three thousand soldiers. He then told Gideon, "There are still too many men." God left Gideon an army of three hundred men. Needless to say, God won the victory that day. God was to get all of the glory, not the human "leader." This is my story. This devotional provides guidance for the Christian law-enforcement officer in knowing and understanding the biblical principles found in the book of Proverbs. Integrity, ethics, peace, and truth will be immediately recognizable as law enforcement characteristics and goals but are they easily identifiable as being from God's Word? We don't always give credit where credit is due, God's perfect Word.

Stephen Mattice, a police officer in the state of Kansas, tells us his experiences in a day or night at work might involve witnessing fatal highway collisions, crime scenes, drug arrests, or domestic violence. Writing in a short, devotional style, he ties his experiences to Scripture and gives us spiritual lessons to apply to our lives.

Stories of Faith and Courage From Cops on the Street is a 365-day devotional book in the Battlefields and Blessings series. Stories - one for each day of the year- come from members of the law enforcement community who have sensed God's presence in some event relating to their work. The contributors represent every phase of law enforcement work and demonstrate that something happened relating in their particular stories that simply cannot be attributed to anything other than God's hand.
Written by a street cop, this unique publication compares the various pieces of law enforcement equipment to the spiritual armor that the Bible describes in Ephesians chapter 6. The importance of each piece of equipment is driven home through engaging, real-life police stories (responding to the infamous L.A. Riots, the devastating 1994 Northridge earthquake, working in jails, making arrests, and more). Although much has been written about this well-known passage of Scripture, little has been written from the perspective of a Christian who wears and uses the physical armor of the police officer every day, fighting both the physical battle against crime in our society and the spiritual battle against evil that all individuals are called to fight. You don t have to be a cop or a Christian to be encouraged and challenged by this book. In addition to building your faith, this book will serve as a helpful introduction to the men and women who protect you and your community."
